The Animal Clinic of Woodruff family was so kind to Dr. Merri and Christopher when their beloved dog Rivers passed away in early March. As many of you know, filling a heart again after a dog leaves can be challenging, and every family is on a different timeframe as to when they’re ready to welcome another dog.
As the temperatures warm up, many of us – including our dogs – are looking forward to waterfall hikes or days on the lake. For lots of our Animal Clinic of Woodruff families, summer with dogs includes plenty of water play and outdoor exploration.

Lyme disease is a relatively new disease in the United States. First recognized in dogs in 1985, this tick-borne infectious disease is caused by Borrelia burgdorferi, a type of bacteria often carried by deer, the primary carrier of the disease.

Sam Scruggs is one of Animal Clinic of Woodruff’s veterinary technicians. She’s been a vet tech for 12 years, and has been with ACOW for almost 6 of those, having joined our staff in 2011.
Office Manager Chris Crenshaw has been a part of Animal Clinic of Woodruff for 16 years – in fact, he helped design and build the clinic!
