How Pets Show They Love Us
We all know we love our pets…but how do we know they love us back? For Valentine’s Day this year, we decided to ask our vets—they are experts, after all—to share stories of how they know our pets love us back.

Fall is finally here! This blog highlights just how to capture those can’t-miss moments with your pet pal this season.
We know our veterinarians spent years at school learning to care for animals, and then went into business to care for them every day. We can assume they are animal lovers through and through. So, it may come also as no surprise that some vets, like our Dr. Merri Walden, have a lot of pets at home. Dr. Merri, in fact, has dogs, cats, horses and even a goat – and that’s just at one of her family houses.
Arlo is a friendly, 3-year-old boxer with the sweetest puppy-dog eyes, but don’t let that fool you – he’s his mama’s fearless protector. Arlo loves horseback riding (yes, he sits on the saddle!), which is a good thing, as he has five horse brothers at home.
The Animal Clinic of Woodruff family was so kind to Dr. Merri and Christopher when their beloved dog Rivers passed away in early March. As many of you know, filling a heart again after a dog leaves can be challenging, and every family is on a different timeframe as to when they’re ready to welcome another dog.
Meet Kush, a tri-color pit bull who lives with Chris Satterfield and visits the Animal Clinic of Woodruff office regularly.
This blog kicks off our new series that shines the spotlight on our employees’ beloved pets. While many businesses like to showcase their employees (as we’ve proudly done for our staff), at Animal Clinic of Woodruff, we feel like our pets are just as much a part of our clinic family. So in this series, we’re excited to share our love of our furry family members with you.
Anyone who’s been to Animal Clinic of Woodruff has likely seen Rivers the dog – who was most likely napping in his bed.
