I was born in Asheville, NC. My dad traveled doing construction work; I was schooled in South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, and Missouri.
I worked in retail until I moved to Cowpens. A job became available at the shelter and I had worked with animals before as a wildlife rehabilitator while in Asheville. I worked at the shelter for a while, but the high euthanasia rate bothered me. I decided I would like to work in a veterinary office where I could establish relationships with clients and watch their animals thrive. That was back in 1999 and I have been doing this ever since. I have worked in emergency animal medicine but I prefer daily practice. Watching clients' puppies and kittens grow and flourish makes my day!
I love animals, obviously, but I enjoy reading, writing, and spending ridiculous amounts of time fishing. I have a 20-year-old daughter and a husband that has put up with me for 18 years. I enjoy what I do. I can’t imagine doing anything else.
