Full-Time Associate Veterinarian Job

Animal Clinic of Woodruff is looking for a new or recent vet school graduate eager to grow in their career as a veterinarian. The Animal Clinic of Woodruff is a thriving family-owned practice located in the Upstate of South Carolina near the growing city of Spartanburg. Our mission is to enhance the lives of pets and their families by delivering the highest-quality medical care with gentle hands and kind hearts. Our caring and dedicated team offers a variety of small animal pet care services, including pet vaccinations, animal dentistry, pet surgery, and diagnostic care. We also have digital x-ray equipment and an in-house laboratory to enable us to provide complete animal care at our location.

Our appointment-only clinic offers a 2:1 tech-to-doctor ratio, in-house labs, and no overnights or boarding. Our veterinary clinic values a positive work-life balance, so we are closed on weekends and do not allow for "on-call," emergency or weekend shifts. Each of our veterinarians also gets two Fridays off per month and only works a half-day on the remaining two Fridays. We offer competitive salaries and benefits (including 401K matching), three weeks of vacation, and flexible sick hours. Each day, doctors are provided ample time between morning and afternoon appointments for lunch and charting.

Schedule
The hours for this position are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday–Thursday and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on two Fridays per month.

Job Responsibilities

• Conduct annual pet wellness exams
• Diagnose and treat sick or injured pets
• Prescribe pet vaccinations, preventive healthcare medications, and other treatments as needed
• Provide pet dental care services
• Spay and neuter cats and dogs
• Insert pet microchipping
• Operate diagnostic equipment
• Advise pet owners on animal nutrition and preventive healthcare
• Provide pet behavioral counseling
• Treat common skin conditions in dogs and cats
   

Skills/Qualifications

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine
• Love for animals; caring and compassionate towards pet patients and owners
• Excellent communication skills
• Positive, team-oriented attitude; ability to collaborate with other veterinarians and staff
